La Bola / The Crowd - a distinguished Mexican documentary feature on the Mexican Revolution, utilizes advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. This university project exemplifies the effective integration of technology into historical narratives, setting a standard for the use of digital tools in humanities studies. The presentation will discuss how AI has been used to visually enhance the documentary through colorization, hyperrealistic effects such as Deepfake, frame interpolation, and image resolution enhancement, while also examining the ethical and artistic implications of these technologies.
