CILECT Congress 2024

The 2024 CILECT Congress will be hosted by the Communication University of China (CUC), Beijing, China (21-25 October 2024). It will incorporate a conference under the title “Artificial Intelligence and Film Education”. Delegates will be introduced to and explore new technologies and concepts that arise as a result of the rapidly evolving AI. Subjects may include but are not limited to:

● AI definitions and practices across fields and regions

● Incorporation of AI into media education methodologies

● Opportunities for sharing AI practices amongst CILECT members

● Strategies for AI partnerships between schools and industry

About CUC

Founded in Beijing, China in 1954 and directly administered by the Ministry of Education, the Communication University of China (CUC) is among the first group of universities supported by the Double First-Class Construction policy and one of China’s key universities of “Project 211” and part of the key universities under the “985 Innovative Platforms for Key Disciplines Project”.

Aiming to building a world-class university and discipline, CUC makes efforts to shape an inter-relating and inter-influencing multi-discipline system with its sharp characteristics that is led by journalism and communication, film & television arts, information science & technology, underpinned by design studies, Chinese language & literature, foreign language & literature, computer science & technology, and management science & engineering, and focuses on such interdisciplinary fields as Internet information and cultural industries. There are currently 91 bachelor’s degree programs, 19 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master’s degrees, 11 categories authorized to confer professional master’s degrees, eight first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctorate degrees, and seven postdoctoral mobile research stations at CUC.

CUC has 21 teaching and research units, with more than 17,000 students currently enrolled, including 11,500, 4,500and 1,000 studying for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees, respectively.

In 2020, CUC innovatively established Hainan International College. It has signed cooperation agreements and maintained friendly partnerships with more than 200 universities or institutions in more than 80 countries or regions, and has established 17 research centers for a community with a shared future for mankind in 16 countries.

Since 2001, CUC has built and developed a number of academic platforms with great impact and visibility in the international community, such as the China (Beijing) International Student Animation Festival, the Asian University Student Film Festival, and the World Women University Presidents Forum.
