    Alfonso Alejandro Coronel Vega
    Filmmaker, currently pursuing a Doctorate in Arts and Design at UNAM, also holds a Master's degree in Documentary Filmmaking and specialized studies in Cinematography and Visual Design and Communication. He excelled in the post-production of Rita: The Documentary and took on the direction of the miniseries The Gray Automobile Gang. He has been awarded the Best Short Film Script Prize at the Guanajuato International Film Festival. Currently, he leads the ENAC's X Documentary First Feature titled La Bola, an innovative Mexican university feature film with Artificial Intelligence intervention. His work has been showcased in international festivals, television and streaming platforms.

    Almir Almas
    Almir Almas is Associate Professor of the Department of Film, Radio and Television and Researcher of the Postgraduate Program in Media and Audiovisual Processes; General Coordinator of the Research Group LabArteMídia (Laboratory of Art, Media and Digital Technologies) and Obted (Brazilian Observatory of Digital Television and Technological Convergence), at the ECA/USP. He holds a Ph.D in Communication and Semiotics, at PUC/SP. He was Visiting professor and Researcher (Support by FAPESP BPE), at Oxford Brookes University, England, in 2023-2024. He is Filmmaker/Videoartist/VJ. Member of the Board of the Brazilian Society of Television Engineering and the Brazilian Digital Terrestrial Television System Forum.

    Ana Laura Monserrat

    Ana Laura Monserrat is an Argentine filmmaker, educator, and interdisciplinary researcher. Graduated from ENERC (National School of Filmmaking), she also has extensive experience in educational consulting for the Ministry of Education in Argentina. Holding a Ph.D. in Biology, her scholarly pursuits delve into the intersection of film studies and environmental discourse. Currently, she serves as an Executive Producer at NSfilms and shares her expertise as a dedicated instructor at ENERC and ETER.

    Deisy Fernanda Feitosa
    Postdoctoral candidate in CTR/ECA/USP, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Almir Almas and Postdoctoral researcher in Humanities, Rights, and Other Legitimacies (Diversitas-FFLCH/USP). PhD in Communication Sciences (ECA-USP); master’s degree in digital television (UNESP); Social Communicator with qualifications in Journalism and Radio Broadcasting (UFPB). She is coordinator and professor of the Journalism program at Cásper Líbero and collaborating professor in the postgraduate program in Media and Audiovisual Processes at CTR-ECA/USP. She is researcher in the LabArteMídia and Obted research groups. She researches journalism in the digital era, digital TV, virtual reality and human rights, among others.

    Ho Chunfai
    Native of Hong Kong, China, he teaches and supervises 3D work processes at Jilin Animation Institute. He has worked in the film industry since 2003. He was involved in the production of two Hollywood Animation films TMNT and Astro Boy in Hong Kong (2003-2012). In 2012 he joined Jilin Animation Institute with the aim to apply his years of production experience to the creation of Chinese animation films and to impart relevant knowledge about animation filmmaking to students.

    Jenny Huang
    Jenny Huang is a master's graduate student specializing in human-computer interaction and has been a dedicated member of the AI lab at the University of Television and Film Munich since its establishment in 2022. In her role, she assists with various student projects involving AI, contributes to teaching activities, conducts research, and helps build the technical infrastructure necessary for AI projects.

    Justin Harvey
    Dr. Justin Harvey is a media artist and academic with a diverse background in visual arts and production. As well as writing/directing his own films, Justin has worked in camera departments for TV, as DOP on music videos, producer/director on advertising campaigns and as picture editor on feature documentary and drama projects. Justin's solo artwork spans still and moving image, and installation, embracing experimental methods that exploit digital imaging technologies and the evolving ‘artificial intelligence’ systems that increasingly drive them. He has exhibited work in solo and curated exhibitions in Sydney, Chicago, Vancouver, Amsterdam, South Korea and Hong Kong.

    Justin Trevor Winters
    Justin Trevor Winters is a full-time faculty member in the Screenwriting for Film and Television Department at Loyola Marymount University, a part of the LMU Ignite Innovation Program as a writer and futurist, and chairs the LMU AI Alliance. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Verified Labs, an end-to-end AI transformation service specializing in bringing talent, brands, and IP owners into the immersive web. Some of his clients include the Estates of Ernest Hemingway, Steve McQueen and Bing Crosby as well as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The BIG3 Basketball League, and Triumph Motorcycles.

    Kenneth Kaplan
    Kaplan’s first feature, Pure Blood, received the Lucio Fulci Award at the Roma FantafestXXI. He was co-creator, head writer, director and show runner on the multi-season political drama 90 Plein Street. Other TV drama directing credits include Hard Copy and The Lab, both of which aired in prime-time on South Africa’s national broadcaster. He worked regularly for Discovery Kids/NBC on the Emmy-nominated American teen comedy-drama, Scout’s Safari. This work has aired on 31 African broadcasters and was recognized with an UNESCO Audience Award. Other directing work includes documentary and edutainment programming with a specific interest in youth and health issues in sub-Saharan Africa. Among these, Sleeper’s Wake was nominated for the Sutherland Award at the BFI London Int’l Film Festival.

    Manuel Flurin Hendry
    Manuel Flurin Hendry is an award-winning film director, screenwriter and artistic researcher born and based in Zurich, Switzerland. A graduate of the German Film and TV Academy Berlin, his work cuts across genres and formats, from political drama to family entertainment. As a researcher, he investigates the impact of AI systems on self-perception, visual education and artistic practice. He teaches film direction at the Zurich University of the Arts and at the International Film School Cologne and serves as the principal investigator of the cineMINDS project.

    Margaret Wallace
    Margaret Wallace is an Associate Professor of the Practice in the Department of Film and Television in the College of Communication at Boston University, USA, where she teaches courses in entrepreneurship, video games, and interactive media, as part of the prestigious MS Media Ventures program. Wallace has spearheaded innovative games, digital media, and interactive entertainment ventures, notably through her leadership roles at start-ups (Playmatics, Skunk Studios) and global media companies. Her background includes designing and producing original intellectual property games and products, working with renowned brands, securing diverse funding (VC, angel, strategic), and providing creative, product, business, and policy direction in the interactive media space. Her work reflects an enduring commitment to fostering the collective human potential through knowledge-sharing, empathy, and innovation.

    María Fernanda Herrera Morales
    María Fernanda Herrera Morales graduated from the UPAEP where she studied the BFA in Film and Audiovisual Production and MBA in Direction and Marketing. Her work as a screenwriter has been awarded in a variety of calls and festivals, national and international, among which the Ibero-American Script Residence, the Bolivia Lab, the International Film Festival of America, Shorts Mexico, the Stimulus to Innovation and Artistic Development by the IMACP. She is currently the Director of the BFA in Film and Audiovisual Production, providing students with an updated perspective in screenwriting.

    Nahuel Srnec
    Nahuel Srnec is a film director, producer, cinematographer and professor working with AI in postproduction. He is DaVinci Resolve Training Partner, full member of Colorist Society International and ADF. Several of his works were awarded at numerous festivals. Nahuel has taught classes in ENERC INCAA, UBA and UADE in Argentina, The Core School in Spain, Columbia University in Paraguay, Blackmagic Design in the USA, and the Unreal Engine Official Trainings.

    Neill Jordaan
    Neill R. Jordaan is a Senior Motion Picture Lecturer in the Post Graduate Studies Program at AFDA, Johannesburg, with 15 years of film and TV experience. He is also an award- winning film editor and a PhD candidate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. His study explores the South African film industry, specifically focusing on AI policies and legislation. Additionally, he holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from AFDA, Johannesburg.

    Pauline Leininger
    Pauline Leininger holds a Bachelor's degree in Media Informatics and a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction from LMU Munich. Inspired by her passion for film and creative media, she's been an integral part of the AI Lab at the University of Television and Film Munich since it was founded in 2022. With a particular focus on visual generative AI and deepfake technology, she advises and actively collaborates on AI-related student projects, contributes to teaching, and continually researches the role of AI in media production.

    Peter Slansky
    Dr. Eng. Peter C. Slansky studied media engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Cologne and film/television at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In 2013, he received a PhD in architecture from the Bauhaus University Weimar. From 1988 to 1999, he realized 60 industrial and commercial films as director, cinematographer and/or producer. Since 1992 he worked as a freelance lecturer in Germany and Switzerland, including teaching assignments at the State University of Design Karlsruhe and the University of Applied Sciences Cologne. In 1999 he became professor for film and television production technology at the HFF Munich. Member of the Senate and the University Council (Vice Chair 2007-2017), Dean of Studies (2013-2022); Founding Director of the Center for Advanced Studies of Film Technology of the HFF (2005-2019); HFF's commissioner of overseeing the finalizing of the HFF new building; Co-host of the CILECT conference; CILECT Teaching Award Winner (2023); Author of numerous books on cinematography and other subjects.

    Shen Wei
    Shen Wei received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy at King’s College London and master’s degree in moving image at Royal College of Art, London. He joined Communication University of China’s Department of Digital Media Art in 2019. Shen Wei’s works have been exhibited in festivals worldwide, including Venice, Rotterdam, Tallinn, etc. as well as in prestigious venues such as National Centre for Performing Arts, Beijing, and Nikolaj Kunsthal, Copenhagen. Since 2023, Shen Wei has become the head curator of [Aniwow!] Fest. Other curated exhibitions include Víctor Erice’s retrospective at 2024 Beijing International Film Festival, Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab: Filming in Amazon from Asian Retrospective, etc.

    Rahul Puri
    Rahul Puri is the Managing Director of one of India’s leading Entertainment company Mukta Arts Ltd. & Director of Academics of Whistling Woods International. He worked in the sector of Corporate Finance & Strategy before he joined Mukta Arts to produce and distribute Indian films. Since then, he has been responsible for over 25 films. Rahul was also involved in the establishing of Mukta A2 Cinemas with almost 100 screens’ presence in India and the Middle East. He has been a member of the CAPA Regional Council since 2018 and is a member of the CII National Committee on Media and Entertainment.

    Sipho Ngcizela
    Sipho Ngcizela holds a BA Honors in Motion Picture Medium and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from AFDA, where he was honored to be the Valedictorian. He directed and wrote Severed Connection (2021) and Pig Heart Revival (2022), which received positive recognition. As an educator at AFDA, he enjoys mentoring students and helping them develop their skills.

    Sylvia Rothe
    Sylvia Rothe is Professor for AI in Media Production at the University of Television and Film Munich. She studied mathematics in Berlin and worked there as a research assistant. She attended several filmmaking courses and turned her passion for movies into a profession in 2011. In the same year, she was a participant in the European Social Documentary training initiative, which focuses on the innovative storytelling methods. While working for a Munich film production company, she realized various VR film projects and returned to research in 2017. Her scientific work was presented at various conferences and published in scientific journals.

    Temara Prem
    Temara Prem is a Motion Picture Program Coordinator and Senior Lecturer at AFDA, Durban, South Africa. With a Ph.D. in Film and Television from the University of the Witwatersrand, her research focuses on cultural representation in postcolonial diasporic filmmaking practices. A recipient of multiple bursaries and scholarships, including from the National Arts Council and the National Film and Video Foundation, Temara is also an active filmmaker, having worked on notable projects including documentaries and feature films. Her work showcases her commitment to exploring cultural expression through filmmaking.

    Theodore 'Regge' Life
    Theodore "Regge' Life is a Producer/Director for film, television and the theater. He has been awarded a Fulbright Journalist Fellowship, three CINE Golden Eagles, named a Sony Innovator and nominated for three Emmys. He is the author of Becoming an Actor’s Director. His film Reason to Hope was awarded Best Film at the 26th annual International Festival of Black Cinema in Berlin and he completed a feature film based on the Akutagawa Prize winning novella, Cocktail Party. He has been teaching directing at Emerson College for the past 13 years and serves as the Distinguished Director in Residence.

    Thomas Brennan
    Thomas Brennan is the adjunct professor for postproduction at the Stockholm University of the Arts specializing in color grading. He works with BA, MA, and PhD students. Thomas’ master class, Authentic Color in Film is a popular course held every two years for both students and media professionals from around the Nordic region. He has been developing workshops and courses about AI tools in media production for several years. Thomas recently held an AI tools workshop in Helsinki for 25 students from eight countries and will lead a course in the fall entitled Introduction to AI tools in media production.

    Tuomas Auvinen
    Doctor of Philosophy, Executive MBA Tuomas Auvinen has built his career in the field of creativity and cultural leadership and has broad experience in demanding leadership roles at arts institutions. He has worked as the CEO of The Association of Finnish Theatres, Administrative Director of the Finnish National Theatre and as the Principal and Dean of the Sibelius Academy, amongst other positions. Currently Tuomas Auvinen is Dean of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University. He is also responsible for the Aalto University strategic theme ‘Radical Creativity’. He has extensive experience in creative leadership training and consultancy and has held a number of chairman and board member positions in diverse set of companies and foundations.

    Valentin Karl Huber
    Valentin Karl Huber, born in Stuttgart, studied Media Technology and Media Design in Upper Austria, Film at the Zurich University of the Arts, and Cultural Management at the University of Zurich. In addition to his work as a VFX Artist and Technical Director at the visual effects company “Das Alte Lager”, he teaches and researches in the fields of Visual Effects, Artificial Intelligence and Immersive Arts. His work has been regularly presented at international conferences like FMX.

    Youhan Ding
    Youhan Ding, faculty of Beijing Film Academy since 2021, graduated from Scrips College in 2017 with a BA in Politics and Economics and New York University in 2020 with an MA in International Relations. Translated a research piece by Dr. Ernest Edmonds on generative digital media from English to Chinese which was published in a top-tier Chinese academic journal. While concentrating on international exchange and cooperation since entering the Academy, she has been developing an interest towards the discussion and research on AI and film as her work on the UNESCO Chair on Cinematic Arts and Cultural Diversity team deepens.

    Elena Yaremenko
    Dean of the of the Animation and Multimedia Department at VGIK University, Associate Professor, Director of Animation and Documentary films. Teaching since 2005 as Head of the workshop of Multimedia Directors, pedagogical experience at the VGIK Department of Animation and Multimedia over 18 years. Artistic Director at “VGIK-Debut” studio, represents VGIK at various conferences and events. Received National Award as Best Dean of the year of 2022 in Moscow by All Russian Professors Society in ART and CULTURE section.

  • Bruce Sheridan
    Professor Bruce Sheridan was elected CILECT President in 2018 after serving as Chair of the CILECT North-America Regional Council 2014-2018. During 1996 and 1997 he was Development Producer at South Pacific Pictures, Auckland, New Zealand. He won the 1999 New Zealand Best Television Drama Award for the tele-feature Lawless, and has directed or produced several award-winning feature documentaries, including Perfectly Frank, Spellbound, Head Games, and Our Blood is Wine. Since 2001, Professor Sheridan has taught screen directing at Columbia College Chicago, USA, where he served as Chair, Film & Video from 2001-2017. He is currently working to develop future pedagogy that is maximally responsive to the rapid rate of change in media culture, business, and technology.

    Manuel José Damásio
    Manuel José Damásio holds a Ph.D. in Media Studies from the New University of Lisbon. He is the Head of the Film and Media Arts department, Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon, Portugal. Chair of GEECT (CILECT Regional European Association of Film Schools) since 2018. Author of three books and several chapters in international peer reviewed publications. Board Member of the European Joint Masters Erasmus Mundus “Doc-Nomads”, “Kino-Eyes” and “Re-Anima”, and Coordinator of Film EU - The European University of Film and Media Arts. He regularly works as an evaluator both for the EU and national accreditation agencies at an international level.

    Michael Kowalski
    Michael Kowalski has a B.A. in Semiotics from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. in Visual Anthropology from the University of Southern California. His areas of specialization are Sound Design and Documentary Film. He has been teaching at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts since 2000. He has been the school’s Associate Dean, Chief Academic Officer, from 2011 to 2020 and is currently its Senior Associate Dean. Since 2018 he has been the Chair of CILECT North America (CNA). He continues to work as a freelance sound designer on documentary films.

    Ran Yu
    Ran Yu is Full Professor, Vice-Chair, Convergence Media Center, Communication University of China. He was elected CAPA Chair (2023-2027). He teaches Photography, Film Production and Media Research and has established the “Lab of Shadows”, out of which student films were selected by Toronto Short Film Festival, Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and others. He was awarded the CILECT Teaching Award 2019 (Promising Young Teacher); the Leading Teacher “Guang Ming Cinema Project”; the “National Best Works Award”; the “Annual Top Ten Documentary Award”; the “Beijing Young Teacher Teaching Competition” and many others. His books “Aesthetics of Light”, “Photography Composition” and “Photography Technique” are best sellers in China.

    Raúl López Echeverría
    Raúl López Echeverría specialized in editing and screenwriting at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Italy, and is Film Directing Professor at Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico. He represents UG at FEISAL (Federación de Escuelas de Imagen y Sonido de America Latina). Member of the Selection Committee at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. Kinesis Film House production Company associate. Winner at Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine. Grant recipient of the State Council for Culture and Arts, México. Winner of the first trust for film production, Ministry of Culture of Jalisco, and IMCINE. His most recent film, Domingo, premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

    Stanislav Semerdjiev
    Prof. Dr. Stanislav Semerdjiev is Executive Director of the World Association of Film, TV and Media Schools (CILECT, www.cilect.org, 2011-present). Rector of the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria (NATFA, www.natfa.bg; 2003-2011, 2015-2024). President of the Bulgarian Association of Film, TV and Radio Scriptwriters (BAFTRS, www.baftrs.com; 2006-present). Founder of the first B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. Screenwriting Programs in Bulgaria (1991). Creator of the first Bulgarian long-running (77 episodes) TV series Hotel Bulgaria (2004). His hybrid film The Hamlet Adventure (2008) and his dance performance Bulgarian Mystery (2019) have been widely acclaimed and awarded.     Alex McDowell
    Alex McDowell RDI is a storyteller and award-winning designer working at the intersection of emergent technologies and narrative media. In 2000 he originated the influential narrative design practice called world building. He has designed productions for David Fincher, Steven Spielberg, Terry Gilliam, Timur Bekmambetov, Zack Snyder, and many other directors; and for theater, animation and interactive media. He has worked with MIT Media Lab, Volvo, the Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Nike, Ubisoft, Intel, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Spike Lee, Neom, Intel, the Bridge Institute, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Iggy Pop, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Amazing Seasun, the Sex Pistols, I-D Magazine, Bob Dylan and in the design of Cities. Alex is the founder and creative director at Experimental Design, a studio focused on creating immersive future worlds threaded to the present for corporate, media and social change. He is a Professor of Practice at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts where he teaches world building as cross-disciplinary practice. He is William Cameron Menzies Endowed Chair of Production Design, and Director of the USC World Building Institute and Media Lab, currently engaged in artscience research to create a new visual language for molecular biology. He is on the boards of the UNL Carson School for Emerging Media, the Academy of Motion Pictures Science and Technology Council, the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council, the CoSTAR Foresight Board, the National Academy of Science, Science and Entertainment Exchange and the Pancreatic Beta Cell Consortium. In 2006 he was appointed a UK Royal Designer for Industry.

    Saloni Shukla
    Saloni Shukla is an accomplished artist, researcher, and creative technologist with over 18 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry. She has a proven track record of pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation, having worked as a producer, cinematographer, and creative director on a diverse range of projects in films, fashion, advertising, and theatre. What sets Saloni apart is her passion for technology-based startups and business development. She has founded Sasmas Ventures - an incubator that identifies and mentors small tech startups, disrupting the industry and successfully nurturing and developing young companies into thriving businesses. Saloni is currently a creative technologist at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai, where she is exploring the intersection of art, technology, and culture.     Qin Shaozheng
    Dr. Qin Shaozheng is currently a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning at Beijing Normal University, a professor at the IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research, a Principal Investigator (PI), and a recipient of the National High-Level Talent Program for Scientific and Technological Innovation. 

    Dr. Qin has long been dedicated to elucidating the principles of cognition and emotion in the human brain, by using movie-watching functional brain techniques to investigate the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying typical and atypical neurodevelopment of human emotions. In his research on human emotions, he has established emotional stress induction paradigms with movie-watching and multimodal neurocognitive assessments, and their impact on learning and memory. His research has provided new insights into the principles of cognition and emotion in the human brain and the identification and intervention of emotional problems. His research findings have been published in journals such as Nature Neuroscience, Nature Human Behavior, Nature Communications, and Biological Psychiatry and have been highlighted by Nature News and Nature Reviews Neuroscience. His research has received support from key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

     

    Tao Jing
    Tao Jing is a renowned Sound Mixer and Sound Supervisor in the Chinese film industry, a senior professor in the College of Music Recording Arts, Communication University of China and a member of U.S. CAS and MPSE. Tao graduated from Class 1978 of Beijing Film Academy, which is labelled the fifth generation filmmakers and has been engaged in sound supervision and sound theory research for an extended period. Among his films are: Farewell My Concubine, Lifetimes Living, The Emperor and The Assassin, Hero, House of the Flying Daggers, Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles, The Forbidden Kingdom, Under the Hawthorn Tree, The Flowers of War, Coming Home, One Second, etc. He was the Sound Designer for the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the 29th Summer Olympics, 2008, Beijing. He has twice won the Golden Reel Awards (U.S. MPSE Awards), four times won the Golden Rooster Awards, the Grand Technique Prize of the Cannes International Film Festival, the Best Sound of the Hong Kong Film Awards, and many others.
